Symbolon is known for his sexy and fantastical illustrations of girls, using shadows and silhouettes. He is involved in projects both in Japan and abroad.
For this solo exhibition, Symbolon will paint directly onto the 5 metre-high wall of the gallery. The show will mainly feature his black & white illustrations, and also some numbered silkscreen and fabric prints. All the pieces in the exhibition, as well as a number of t-shirts and scarves, will be available for purchase.
A workshop using Riso's silkscreen printer Printgocco has also been scheduled.
* There will be a reception party on the first day of the exhibition, featuring a performance from Symbolon, where he will be using Printgocco. Please bring your own t-shirts etc. to be printed.
* About the workshop: Using Printgocco, the participants will be able to make prints combining Symbolon's illustrations with their own.
